What We Believe

  • We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, as inerrant in the original writings, are verbally inspired by God, and are the supreme and final authority in faith and life.
  • We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe God the Father is the Almighty Creator of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen.
  • We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of the Father, God from God, light from light, begotten not made, of one being with the Father; through Him all things were made. For us and our salvation, He came down from heaven and became incarnate from the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary, became human and is both true God and true man.
  • We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who together with the Father and Son is worshipped and glorified, who has spoken to us through the prophets and authors of Holy Scripture, and who imparts spiritual gifts to those who are born again.
  • We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned, incurring physical and spiritual death, which is separation from God; and that only through a perfect sacrifice could man escape God’s just punishment for our sins, which is eternal death and damnation.
  • We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ was born without sin, lived a perfect life, suffered and was crucified under Pontius Pilate, was buried, and rose from the dead on the third day in accordance with Scriptures; and ascended into heaven where He now sits at the right hand of the Father as High Priest and Advocate, and is the only mediator between God and Man.
  • We believe in the vicarious death of the Lord Jesus as a substitutionary sacrifice for our sins, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the basis of His shed blood.
  • We believe that all who receive the Lord Jesus Christ by grace, through faith, are born again through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, have become children of God, and are members of the spiritual body of one, holy, universal, apostolic church, of which Christ is the head.
  • We believe the Lord’s Supper is celebrated in reverent memory of the body and blood of Jesus Christ that was sacrificed on the cross of Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins.
  • We believe in the eternal security of all who trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • We believe in “that blessed hope,” and in the personal, visible, and glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ to the earth where He shall judge the living and the dead, and establish His Kingdom that will have no end.
  • We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the believer and non-believer. Believers shall appear in Heaven at the Judgment Seat of Christ to receive rewards and to live with Him for eternity. Non-believers shall be judged at the Great White Throne and spend eternity in Hell.
  • We believe that a local New Testament Church consists of a company of baptized believers who have voluntarily associated themselves for worship, for instruction, and for service to our Lord.
  • We believe that a local church is a self-governing body and must be free from interference by any convention or any other ecclesiastical or political authority—maintaining separation of church and state.
  • We believe that every human being is directly responsible to God in matters of faith and life, and that each should be free to worship God according to the dictates of their conscience and leading from the Holy Spirit.
